QwikFab announced and unveiled the Beast on 19 July 2014, an industrial large format 3D printer made in Singapore. Touting one of the largest build envelope for 3D printers in South-East Asia with two dual-pinch extruders, the Beast is also among the most highly specced of 3D printers with features such as 1/128 microstepping drivers, industrial grade linear guides ,industry standard NEMA-23 motors and has two patent-pending technologies implemented within the Beast.
With the Beast, QwikFab creates a new middle class of 3D printers that serves a market specific to businesses and prosumers who want a 3D printing workhorse with a large build volume with high spec features that offers professional-level quality and reliability for office and industrial workspaces.
3D printing allows inventors and designers to innovate and be agile like a software company. Strategically enhancing their ability to quickly develop, “manufacture”, and subject the creation to testing with little investment other than labor.

Dare to dream and create the big impact on your projects with the Beast. Conventional 3D printers allow you to create objects the size of the palm of your hand. With the Beast, you can create your objects in full scale with a 30cm x 30cm x 60cm using two extruders.
Crafted in rigid, low friction and utilizing the latest in dual-pinch extruder technology, the Beast is equipped with dual-pinch delrin extruders that maximizes grip and driving force for fast extrusion and retraction. Filament skipping is a thing of the past and QwikFab’s extruder is able to work under a wide range of filament conditions.
The Beast uses industrial grade belt driven linear guides for high-quality motion. Constructed in aluminum, steel and steel reinforced timing belt drive, the linear guides, excellent positional repeatability of +-0.1mm and linear accuracy of +-0.05mm using direct drive NEMA 23 motors.
The print speed of the Beast is limited only by the properties of the material used for printing. Untethered, the Beast easily achieves printing speeds of up to 400mm/s. The true speed that PLA can be printed at with consistent quality (due to material cooling) is 150mm/s.
An eagerly awaited addition to the Beast, the Beast comes with high resolution 1/128 microstepping that provides whisper quiet movements, smoother mechanical actuation and higher achievable resolution. Conventional 3D printers are left behind at 1/32 microstepping.
The framework of the Beast is made of 4040 aluminum profiles that maintain structural rigidity under load and high stress during operation. The Beast also uses precision-machined components for all functional parts to ensure a high quality and accurate output.
Professionals will value the quick-release build platform provides for fumble-free printing from one job to the next. In combination with the 4040 aluminum chassis and precision machined components means that the Beast is able to achieve up to 20 micron variance on the build surface.
Externally, the Beast is encased in a tough and durable polycarbonate shell. Able to withstand high impact and has good heat resistance, the polycarbonate shell protects the print and users from the moving internal parts during operation.
Based on user centered design and principles, the Beast intuitively lights up when the printing starts and shows the print through the translucent polycarbonate shell. When the printing process is finished, the build platform will rise all the way up and expose the print at the top panel of the Beast.
The Beast comes with Simplify3D™ Software, which contains everything you need to begin making parts on your new 3D printer. Import and manipulate geometry, repair models, generate G-Code instructions, verify toolpaths, manually control your machine, and print parts all from one integrated program.
